Home / Careers
Work somewhere small enough to matter.
If you have looked after people before and you are tired of running between fourteen rooms, this is a different kind of shift.
Why here
Fewer residents, more time with each one.
A smaller house changes the job. You finish a shift knowing how everyone actually did that day, not just which tasks got signed off.
A caseload you can hold
You get to know residents properly instead of learning names off a chart at the start of every shift.
Schedules posted in advance
Set shifts — days, evenings and overnights — so you can plan the rest of your life around them.
Training and backup
Proper onboarding, ongoing training, and a supervisor who answers the phone when you call.
The work itself
What a day shift looks like.
No surprises on your first day. This is the shape of it — the same information we give at interview.
Handover. The overnight caregiver walks you through how everyone slept, anything that changed, and what needs watching today.
Morning cares. Helping residents up, washed and dressed, at their pace. This is the longest stretch of hands-on work in the day.
Breakfast and medications. Served, given and signed off. Anything refused or held gets documented while you remember it.
Household and appointments. Laundry, rooms, a pharmacy run, or sitting with someone who has a difficult appointment ahead.
Lunch. Everyone at one table, staff included. Cutting food, prompting, keeping conversation going — it is care, not a break.
Quiet hours. Charting, care plan notes, calling a family back, restocking. The paperwork happens now, not at 7pm.
Handover out. You tell the evening staff what you would want to be told. Then you go home.
